About Jamaica Concierge Network

What is the Jamaica Concierge Network?

The Jamaica Concierge Network (JCN) is a nonprofit professional association for concierge and guest services professionals working in Jamaica’s hospitality industry. JCN exists to give the concierge profession a collective voice, shared training and standards, and an island-wide community, organized around the pillars of Service, Knowledge, and Connection.

Why was JCN created?

Concierge professionals play an outsized role in guest satisfaction and repeat visitation to Jamaica, yet the profession has never had a dedicated trade association. JCN was founded to fill that gap: advocating for concierges, building shared resources, and connecting professionals who often work in isolation from one another across different properties and parishes.

Is JCN affiliated with a specific hotel, resort, or the Jamaica Tourist Board?

No. JCN is an independent, nonprofit professional guild. It is not owned by or exclusively affiliated with any single hotel, resort chain, or government tourism body. Membership is open to eligible individuals across properties and regions.

What does “Service, Knowledge, Connection” mean?

These are JCN’s three founding pillars. Service reflects the network’s advocacy for the concierge role as a critical driver of Jamaica’s guest experience. Knowledge reflects its commitment to shared training and professional standards. Connection reflects its mission to link concierges across the island into a single professional community.

Membership & Eligibility

Who is eligible to become a JCN member?

Membership is open to concierge professionals, guest services and front office staff, villa and private estate concierges, tour and experience coordinators serving hotel guests, and hospitality students preparing to enter the field, provided they work or study within Jamaica’s hospitality industry.

I work in guest services but I’m not officially titled “concierge.” Can I still join?

Yes. JCN welcomes closely related guest services roles, not only staff with the job title “concierge.” If your work involves guest requests, recommendations, or on-property hospitality coordination, you likely qualify. Applications are reviewed individually.

Are hospitality students eligible for membership?

Yes. Hospitality and tourism students who are preparing to enter the concierge or guest services profession in Jamaica are welcome to apply for membership.

Is there a membership fee?

Founding membership details, including any dues structure, will be announced ahead of JCN’s inaugural reception on July 28 in Negril. Prospective members can join the mailing list to be notified as soon as pricing and application details are finalized.

What do I get as a JCN member?

Membership includes a verified JCN professional credential, access to networking events and receptions, training and development resources, a referral network of vetted local partners, representation through JCN’s industry advocacy, and early access to job opportunities shared within the member community.

How long does the membership application process take?

JCN is currently finalizing its formal review process ahead of the July 28, 2025 launch event. Applicants can expect to hear back within a few weeks of applying once the process is live; mailing list subscribers will be notified first.

Mailing List vs Membership

What’s the difference between the mailing list and membership?

The mailing list is open to anyone, requires no eligibility review, and simply keeps you informed of JCN news, events, and launch details. Membership is a formal, reviewed application reserved for concierge and guest services professionals in Jamaica, and unlocks the full set of member benefits, including credentialing and the member directory.

Can I join the mailing list if I don’t work in Jamaica or in hospitality?

Yes. The mailing list is open to media, tourism partners, hospitality organizations, and anyone else interested in following JCN’s progress, regardless of eligibility for formal membership.

Events

What is the JCN Inaugural Reception and Meet and Greet?

It’s JCN’s official public launch event, held July 28, 2025 in Negril, Jamaica. The reception introduces the network’s founding mission, brings together the founding community of members and prospective members, and marks the opening of formal membership applications.

Do I need to be a member to attend JCN events?

Not necessarily. The inaugural reception is open to prospective members as well as current ones. Some future events may be member-exclusive; details will be announced per event.

Will JCN host events outside of Negril?

JCN’s long-term goal is to connect concierge professionals across all parishes, not just one resort town. As the network grows, expect additional meetups and receptions in other parts of the island.

How do we host a JCN meeting?

The JCN hosts regular in-person meetings of the membership. If you would like to host one at your hotel or place of business, please reach out to our info@ email address.

Nonprofit Status & Governance

Is Jamaica Concierge Network a registered nonprofit organization?

Yes. JCN is organized as a nonprofit professional association serving the concierge and guest services community across Jamaica, rather than as a commercial business.

Who governs JCN?

JCN is guided by a founding board of hospitality professionals committed to building a lasting institution for the industry. Board members and leadership are listed on the homepage under Founding Team.

Getting Involved

How do I apply for JCN membership?

Use the “Apply for Membership” option on the homepage’s Get Involved section, or message JCN directly on LinkedIn with your property and role. Applications are reviewed against the eligibility criteria listed above.
